The End is Nigh

It is my distinct pleasure to announce the death of Asterid as it has been known to many for decades and then millenia before that. Alright, so it's not really a pleasure, but it's not (necessarily) dead either. Let's call it a hiatus, of sorts. The Dutch, that crafty bassman, is off to Seattle in May, perhaps never to return to our city. Myself, I'm off to Europe at the beginning of May, hopefully returning later this year.

But you already knew that or else you probably aren't that concerned about it. Possibly both. Probably both. Fine. Both. Will Asterid resume when I get back? I don't know. Certainly not in its current form. But it's possible. For those few that did support us and come out to see us, we appreciate it greatly.

Before I go, I'm going to attempt to get some shows, demos, lyrics, and other paraphenilia posted as thanks to that select few. Some of the stuff is truly horrible. Perhaps it will help you to understand why the future is at best uncertain.

In any case, it was fun and we wish Dutch a lot of luck in Seattle. Maybe we'll see you in December.

That post made my heart hurt...

I have been struck by an ingenius (but unoriginal) notion: Internet collaboration. Read on -- no matter where someone is in the world he/she can create a song and document it with recording software. Those files will be transfer to a collaborator who may choose to add his/her interpretation to it. Back and forth ala the postal service. The spirit of collaboration lives on...
