National Monument Show

So as of 20 minutes ago, we're officially playing a show Aug 9th at the Unitarian Centre with National Monument. You can hear a few of their songs over at Teargas, but here's a link to save you the trouble:

Slippery Slope
Sade
I think they've just released an EP, too, and this is their first time through Saskatoon, so bring out some people and let's make sure they remember it fondly. Doors will be 7:30 with the show starting at 8:00. The lineup is still a work in progress, but it'll be posted on the main page when everything is locked and set, hopefully very soon. See you there!

Website Work

If you're wondering why there's not been an update in a little bit, it's because we're working on some major updates to the site to get it where we want, and there've been a lot of shows to go to lately. So, here's what we're working on: revised home page with random artwork in place of our 'album' cover, news separate from gossip, gossip containing a band blog, a visitor guestbook, lyrics for the demos, and some other minor stuff. Including getting the site looking good on non-IE browsers.

We're also working on a forum full of resources for the Saskatchewan Indie Scene - venue lists, promoter contacts, an events/shows calendar with personal/band planning functions (practices, time off viewable only by you or members of your band), and more. This is a fairly major undertaking and hopefully will be useful and help promote the scene here. So, no, no updates or new demos this week or next, but maybe I'll throw on another video clip to show we're not sitting on our laurels. And that we're more full of ourselves than you ever feared. Beware!

Pit Photos Posted

Not much to report other than we have photos up from our show at The Pit last week and that we're working on booking some shows for July & August (with yet more new material). We're working on one for the end of July, and then we might be doing a show on Aug 9 at the Bassment, hitting the road for a show in Edmonton Aug 13, Calgary Aug 14, Regina Aug 15, and then perhaps another show back home on Aug 20/21. In the meantime, I suggest checking out Clann Zu/Fractal Pattern July 13th @ the Unitarian Centre (w/No Birds & Parades Against Parades). Should be a great show - and there are more to come.

July 8 - The Pit Studios

We had our first real show last night at The Pit Studios on Broadway. It's an interesting venue in that it's also a record store and an art gallery, and is really small. So the sound was pretty much all direct, but it came out pretty good for the most part. We definitely had a lot of fun and hopefully those in attendance did, too. Thanks so much to Radical Attack and Forgiveness Denied for letting us open, and for all our friends that showed up

Setlist: Silver City Surf, The Rhythm of Life, Pinstripe Gin, This Is The Way Life Grows, A-Line, The Latest Age, Death of the Glorious Future, The Sincerest Element, A Scattershot Genius.

First Show Booked

In contrast to the weekend's bad news, we'll start this week off with some good news. A bunch of it, in fact: Firstly, although the July 6th show has been cancelled, we're now booked for a show on July 8th at The Pit on Broadway. Doors are at 7:30 and Asterid is on at 8:00. Tickets are $5.

Secondly, we've posted a new demo for The Rhythm of Life in the Phono section (don't forget to check out A-Line, Arrows Forward, and The Latest Age as well if you haven't yet). Thirdly, the Glamour section has finally been done up (in PHP!) and there are photos and videos there. Finally, the forum project is coming along nicely. How's that for some good news?

A Sad Affair

Due to the tragic death of Tarrah-Lee Higginbotham on Canada Day, the show scheduled for July 6th has been cancelled. Tarrah was a warm-hearted girl that was always upbeat, though I knew her for only a short time while she worked in our offsale. Our deepest condolences to her family, to Jordan, and to her friends including her former bandmates in PhD.
